Innovative Therapies
New techniques for repair or regrowth of damaged tissues are making headlines in the news on a daily basis. Heinz Ward and Troy Palomalu, star players for the Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers both had knee injuries which threatened to keep them on the sidelines. However, they benefited from a new technique called Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections which provided them with outstanding pain relief that allowed them to play. Working together with Dr. Douglas Solway at IBJI we have made PRP injection therapy available to our patients with chronic tendonitis and bursitis of the shoulder, elbow, hip, foot and ankle for the past year. Our results have been highly favorable with excellent pain relief in most patients and rapid return to function with no serious adverse events.

We are internationally-recognized for our expertise in Ultrasound-guided joint and soft tissue injections. Ultrasound guidance allows us to deliver and direct our PRP (and in the future stem cell therapy) injections directly to the damaged site. Using ultrasound guidance improves our accuracy and enhances the effectiveness of the injected medication because we know it is delivered to the precise site which is producing the pain.
